Stacey1	Does anyone have an opinion on the "Race to the Top" plan? The plan is a competition launched by Obama to improve US educational standards. The schools that perform better than others will receive part of that 4 billion dollar grant. It sounds good in theory but there are too many variables. The rich will get richer and the poor will continue to get poorer.

Mike81	Yes. It may be true that schools and students with more economic resources may have an advantage or edge. However, competition is good, and any program that stimulates competition is worthy of a shot as long as the same rules apply across the board to all schools.
